Portrait Photography has changed in the last few years, moving away from the more traditional dark backgrounds and static poses. Modern portraiture has a fresher, brighter, look to it. Using white backgrounds or outdoor locations, Ian can create portraits that capture a moment in time, something that will give you pleasure for years to come.
The Photographic Sitting or Photo Shoot:
Normally this will take between an hour to an hour and a half. We will ask
you to bring along changes of outfits to give variety to your finished images,
also some props (hats etc. can be very useful).
My style of portrait photography involves a lot of close up face shots, concentrating on the expression of the subject. I now use top of the range, digital camera equipment for all portraiture. This enables me to easily change between colour and black and white and also to subtly manipulate the images e.g. removing small skin blemishes or lightening eyes (very effective with close up portraits).
I work from a small, home based
photographic studio, which is more suited to individuals or small family groups,
larger groups would be taken at an outdoor location.
The sitting fee is £35.00 and if any of the kids are not at their best on the day, we offer a free re-shoot at a future date that suits the client.
Viewing your Photographs:
Between seven and ten days after the photographs have been taken we will ask
you back down to my studio to view the finished images.
We can also upload the images to this web site to allow other family members to see the results, the photographs can also be ordered on line.
The pictures will be presented in a slide show format, via a digital projector. I do not employ sales people to sell prints at these viewings, as I do not believe in a " hard sell" approach in my business. It is important to me that you only buy what you want to buy and leave with the feeling that you have not spent more than you intended. I take the view that if you needed more portraits taken in the future, you would happily get in touch and book another sitting. People who have been oversold to, tend not to return.
Photographic Mounts and Frames:
The
finished images are all offered as ready to hang, framed prints. The frames are
top of the range and modern in style and come with high quality fillet mounts
that can hold a single image or a selection of images e.g. a 24x20 mount can
hold a single 20x16 inch print or a selection of six images (one 15x12 inch and
five 5x4 inch prints).
We have a selection of frames and mounts to suit all tastes and requirements. I do not sell loose prints as I believe strongly that the images I create should be presented in frames that compliment these images.
The frames
I use are of a very high quality and have been carefully selected to display
the photographs to best effect.
